To send the MIDI signal that tells it to 'release the keys,' choose this command after a moment, the synthesizer will be silent. From time to time, you may encounter MIDI lock, a rare situation in which a synthesizer sounds as if its keys are 'stuck,' and it plays continuously as though someone's still pressing them. Choose this menu item to stop the playback. You can also start playback in a number of ways, such as using the Playback Controls. Choose this menu item to start the playback. Choose this command to open the Sound Map Priority dialog box, where you can assign the priority of VST sound libraries that Finale uses when assigning sounds to score Instruments. Use this submenu to configure MIDI and audio playback devices. If Finale's automatic channel assignments for percussion, or any instrument, do not work for a device, you can change the channel manually in the Score Manager. Banks other than 1 do not reserve a channel for percussion automatically. The second percussion instrument added to bank 1 is assigned to the next consecutive available channel. When auto-assigning sounds, Finale reserves channel 10 on bank 1 for percussion to accommodate MIDI devices that require channel 10 for percussion sounds. Sounds are assigned to individual instruments (using the same sound map mechanism) when adding or changing instruments in the Score Manager. In addition to choosing this command, Finale also reassigns sounds to all instruments when starting a new document with the Setup Wizard, and when choosing MIDI/Audio > Play Finale Through VST (switching from Play Finale Through MIDI). Finale loads as many banks as necessary (up to 8) to accommodate multiple sounds and players in the VST Banks & Effects dialog box. With MIDI/Audio > Play Finale Through VST checked, you can review the sound assignments under the Sound column of the Score Manager. (Finale matches its instruments with VST sounds using Sound Maps). Finale loads VST instrument plug-ins and assigns sounds based on the order specified in the Sound Map Priority dialog box. Choose this command to automatically assign VST sounds to your score instruments. Would you like Finale to reassign all instruments in this document to sounds available on your computer? (Your file will be changed.).' If you click Yes, Finale reassigns sounds based on your computer's configuration (and your settings in the Sound Map Priority dialog box). Use this submenu to add audio tracks to your score, load audio into an audio track, and make additional settings relating to imported audio files. Choose this option to open the VST Banks & Effects dialog box, where you can assign a VST Device (such as the ARIA Player) for a range of Finale channels.
